Taking Manual Credit Card Payments on a PAX Machine
There are a few key elements needed when manually taking payments on a PAX machine:
- Card number
- Expiration date
- CVV or CSC (usually 3 digits on the back, sometimes a 4-digit number on the front)
The card number is mandatory. However, you may skip entry for all other pieces of information if they are not available by clicking the green enter button to bypass.
To enter the manual payment, enter the card number when prompted to swipe. The device will prompt you for the rest.
If the PAX machine is not allowing manual entry, it could be that this feature is disabled. For assistance with this, you should reach out to the contact who sold you the device. They should be able to adjust the “MOTO” setting in the device parameters.
