What is Denominated Input?
Denominated Input is simply another way to tally up physical cash by denomination (bill or coin).
In certain instances, a merchant may wish to use Denominated Input for the starting balance and/or ending balance of their cash drawer. Denominated Input keeps track of how many bills of a certain type there are, with the intent of adding the totals of each bill together at the end.
Example: In a cash drawer you may have 5 total $1.00 bills. When navigating to either the Start of Day or End of Day, you’ll be presented with a screen to count the contents of the drawer. By default, Korona only wants the total and not the individual bills. With Denominated Input, you will count the individual bills, so in this example, you would type in 5 on the number pad and then hit the $1.00 bill. This will add 5 * $1.00, for a total of $5.00
A receipt of the Denominated Input will print automatically once completed. A fully Denominated Input receipt might look like this:
Denominated Balance for End of Day
If you wish to have Denominated Balance enabled for your Balance POS/End of Day, you will need to enable this in the Korona.studio. Navigate to Settings>Payment Methods>Cash and then make sure Denominated Balance is checked on. Make sure to Save any changes you make on this page.
Denominated Input for your Cash Deposit/Starting Balance
If you wish to have denominated input for your Cash Deposit/Starting Balance, you will need to enable this in Korona.studio as well. Navigate to Settings>Accounts>Cash Deposit and then check on Denominated Input. Make sure to Save any changes you make on this page.
