Button Restrictions

The Button Restriction function in KORONA POS lets you control access to specific buttons and actions at the register. Instead of every cashier having the same permissions, you can configure certain buttons to be role-restricted or require a manager’s approval.

For example, a standard cashier may be able to process sales but not void a receipt. If they attempt a restricted action like a void, the system will block it until a higher-level employee uses their login code and approves the action. This ensures sensitive tasks—such as refunds, discounts, or voids—are only carried out with proper oversight.

There is also an alternative option where another cashier can be required to verify the action. In this setup, the POS prompts a second user to use their login code and vouch for what is being done before the transaction can continue. This is especially useful in environments where multiple employees share oversight responsibilities and you want added confirmation without relying solely on managers.

By setting button restrictions, you can add a layer of accountability, prevent misuse of critical functions, and ensure each employee only performs actions appropriate for their role.

To set this up, go to Settings > Button Configurations and open the button layout you want to edit. (You may need to locate it using the Button Layouts option at the top) Find the button you want to restrict, select it, and you’ll see the available options to activate and configure the button restriction.
